Love Summer? Love Amsterdam? Love BBQs? Find the best spots in Amsterdam for BBQ-ing this Summer!
Vondelpark – Amsterdam’s most famous park, right in the middle of the city, close to Museumplein where the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum & others can be found. The perfect spot if you fancy grilling up some burgers after a dose of Dutch culture!
But beware, you can’t just plonk down your BBQ anywhere in this park. There’s 2 designated areas for BBQs in the Vondelpark – check out the map below… or just follow the smoke!
Yup, you guessed it – Westerpark is a big park located to the west of the city, close to de Jordaan. Here, you can choose your favourite BBQ spot anywhere in the park (as long as it’s not on the football/korfball fields!).
And even better – the park even has real public BBQs set up permanently so all you need to bring is coal, food and good company. The BBQs are pretty easy to find – just keep going straight from the entrance to the park from Harlemmerplein (where there is also a supermarket!) and you will walk straight into them.
An added bonus of the Westerpark is the Westergasfabriek – an old gasworks that has been transformed into one of the city’s nicest cultural venues. If you choose to BBQ in Westerpark, don’t forget to stop by local Amsterdam Brewery Troost in the Westergasfabriek for some delicious beer.
The Oosterpark is to be found in the east of Amsterdam, close to the Tropenmuseum. Here it’s easy – anyone can BBQ anywhere – and with a nice lake in the middle, the Oosterpark is a serene spot for your summer evening meal.
Surrounding the Oosterpark is a great selection of bars where you can wash down your burgers. Party with a Local favourites are Bar Bukowski & de Bier Tuin. Check them out!
